After years of fan speculation and anticipation, on Thursday (April 3) Bruce Springsteen finally announced the June 27 release of Tracks II: The Lost Albums. The long-rumored box set features seven complete records recorded between 1983 and 2018, including 74 previously unheard songs. “The Lost Albums were full records, some of them even to the point of being mixed and not released,” Springsteen says in a statement. “I’m glad you’ll get a chance to finally hear them. I hope you enjoy them.” To promote the collection, Springsteen shared a new song, “Rain in the River,” which is featured in the set. Tracks II includes albums like L.A. Garage Sessions ’83, Streets of Philadelphia Sessions, a soundtrack for an abandoned movie called Faithless, and a country album called Somewhere North of Nashville which features the E Street Band. Tracks II was completed during the pandemic in 2020 while Springsteen was kept off the road. “What I did during that period of time was I finished everything I had in my vault,” said The Boss.
