During a solo show at the Sidney Myer Music Bowl in Melbourne, Australia on Wednesday (October 30), Thom Yorke walked off the stage after his performance was interrupted by a Pro-Palestine protestor. During the Radiohead frontman’s set, someone in the audience began yelling about “the Israeli genocide in Gaza.” In fan-captured footage of the interaction, Yorke responds to the protestor, “Come up here and say that. Right here, come on. Hop up on the f—ing stage and say what you wanna say. Don’t stand there like a coward, come here and say it. You want to piss on everybody’s night?” The protester yelled back, “How many dead children will it take for you to condemn the genocide in Gaza?” “Okay, you do. See you later then,” Yorke said before walking off the stage. Yorke came back out a few minutes later to perform a solo rendition of Radiohead’s 1997 hit, “Karma Police,” as his final song of the set. (Entertainment Weekly
