Rock and Roll Hall of Famer Tom Petty has passed away. He was 66 years old.
According to CBS News, Petty was found unconscious is his home Sunday evening, October 1st. When he was discovered, Petty was in full cardiac arrest.
When Petty arrived at the hospital, he had no brain activity. The decision was then made to remove him from life support.
Petty became a household name in the late 1970’s, following the release of his band’s debut album Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers. Petty released the second album with his band Mudcrutch last year.
Petty is survived by his wife, Dana York Epperson, and two daughters from a previous marriage.
